YORK Samuel Bahn Myers was born February 1, 1959 and passed away unexpectedly the morning of October 11, 2015. He was the son of Helen (Zeigler) Myers and the late Wilford Myers. In addition to his mother, he leaves behind the love of his life, Cindy (Marsteller) Myers. They enjoyed 37 years as devoted husband and wife. He also leaves behind their three children, Andrew (wife, Sanaa), Elizabeth (husband, Adam) and Valerie who were so incredibly blessed to have him as a father. He inspired and supported his children to pursue their dreams. He took great pride in the people of integrity and faith they've become. "Pop" was adored by Conrad, his two year old grandson. Sam is also survived by a sister, Leta Jo Maue; and four brothers, Joseph, Patrick, Theodore and Jacob Myers. Sam was a hard-working, dependable and valued electrician. He was employed by the Derry Township Municipal Authority. Sam and Cindy are members of Living Word Community Church in Red Lion where he was beloved as a friend and growth group leader. Sam was most passionate about spending time with his family and experiencing life with them. His other loves included rebuilding motorcycles, working in his garage, rock-climbing, skiing and participating in triathlons with his daughter. He had a strong faith in God's redemption through Jesus Christ and is now experiencing great peace and joy in heaven. A Celebration of Sam's Life will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Living Word Community Church, 2530 Cape Horn Road, Red Lion, with the Rev. Steven C. Almquist officiating. Burial will be private in Prospect Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to: https://www.gofundme.com/wp67kyqk, to help defray medical expenses for his wife, Cindy. I've worked as a contractor for several years at DTMA and during that time I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Sam. Due to time restraints, our conversations were usually short but he always captured my interests, being a technical person myself. It was obvious to me that Sam was in a great place in life, he just radiated positive energy! I always hoped that someday I would get to know Sam much better, but that opportunity never materialized. This evening, I went to his Celebration of Life and I finally got to know Sam. He's an amazing person and has a wonderful family. While you were all huddled together speaking in front of us, I know he had his arms wrapped around you all and has no plans of ever letting you go.

I join the family and friends of Sam in celebrating his life while mourning his passing. We bonded quickly when he was working for Garden Spot as a contractor at DTMA, and continued our friendship when he joined us as an employee. Prominent in our many conversations was devotion to family (we both married a Cindy!) and Faith. Many problems that I encountered working the evening shift that I would report were handled with the phrase "We'll have Sam take a look at it"... case closed! He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather as well as a great friend and co-worker. A life well lived. Sam is and will be greatly missed.

I first remember Sam from when he worked with Garden Spot and was on a job at our plant. His ponytail and height were the things I remembered most. When he came to work at DTMA, I realized he was a quiet and kind person. And he still had that ponytail! Sam was a good man and will be greatly missed. My sincere thoughts and sympathy are with Cindy and his family at this difficult time.

Dear Cindy, Andrew, Sanaa, Elizabeth, Adam & Valerie,

Our hearts broke when we got the news of Sam from our family. Death for us is Life in Christ, yet it still feels like we are being robbed of a loved one. We are praying the Lord will calm you with His love and put a balm of Comfort on your hearts.

Andrew, Liz & Val ~ I keep thinking of the legacy your dad left for you. You are three links in the chain of Sam Myer's Testimony. How blessed you all are to have a father like him! And what a gift from God to be the fruit of your dad's Faith. Carry on his legacy to the family members, co-workers and world around you!

Psalm 112:1-3 "Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in his commandments! His offspring will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever."

Much sympathy and many prayers,

For the years I knew Sam at dtma, I was fortunate. He was a humble, caring individual who always reminded me about the more important things in life, family, which spoke volumes of the husband, father, and grandpa he was. ' Life is good buddy' was a common phrase of his. His positive outlook on things was always encouraging to me. I will miss our talks about family, the gym, and his constant reminders to get in shape to join him for a triathlon. He will be deeply missed by all, including the many whose lives he touched in such a positive way. My deepest condolences to the family.

He bragged about all of you and had countless Love for all and glowed when he talked about his grandson Conrad and was looking forward to the next addition to his family in the next few months. Sam always spoke very highly and was very proud of his family, he was a devoted husband, father.

I always knew that when Sam was given he would always do what needed to be done.

Sam has left a big hole in our team that will be hard if not impossible to fill. We will miss him a lot but will always be grateful for knowing and working with him.

I wish him peace as he "travels along that level of time, from whom's born no traveler ever returns".

Cindy, peace be with you and your family and remember all the time we spend on Earth will be short until next you and Sam once again meet for eternity.
