Ailean Detter, 89, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, November 17, 2017. She lived the first 83 years of her life in the York/Dover area. Ailean is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Lorne Detter.
She was born March 28, 1928, the daughter of the late Wesley and Claudia Tome. Many people knew Ailean as the owner of Ailean's Art Studio and Detter's Bed & Breakfast, participation in the PA Farmer's Association and Dover secretary to Representative John Brougous.
Ailean's family includes four children, Judy Ogden (Philip), Sharon Shue (Chas), Susan Phillips (Rodney) and David Detter (Lavonna); AFS daughter, Masayo Yairo, Japan; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
The family of Ailean looks forward to seeing you at a celebration of life on Saturday, January 13, at York Foursquare Church, 150 N. Sumner Street, York. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until the start of the service at 2 p.m. There will be a private family interment.
