Dennis Roehrs, age 77, of Hampton, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Memorial Community Care in Aurora.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, August 14th at Zion Lutheran Church northeast of Hampton. Rev. Mark Hannemann will officiate. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 - 7 P.M. Wednesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Memorials may be made to the family to designate at a later date. OBITUARY: DENNIS ROEHRS
Dennis Dean Roehrs, the son of Orville Arnold and Marjorie (Mundt) Roehrs, was born at York, Nebraska on February 27, 1948 and passed away in Aurora, Nebraska on August 10, 2025, at the age of 77.
He grew up on the family farm northeast of Hampton and graduated from Hampton High School in 1966. Dennis served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was awarded a Purple Heart with an Oak Leaf Cluster. After being honorably discharged Dennis attended SCC in Milford where he earned an Associated Degree in Diesel Mechanics. After graduation, he returned to Hampton work as a mechanic at Ericksens for a few years. Dennis went to work with his father on the family farm.
Dennis was united in marriage to Judy Higby on January 28, 1995 at Zion Lutheran Church. They made their home east of Hampton. Judy passed away on June 27, 2018.
Dennis was a member of American Legion and Zion Lutheran Church. He loved watching Nebraska football and New York Yankees baseball and playing cards. Dennis enjoyed attending his Army reunions in Cincinnati, Ohio. He especially loved spending time with family, especially with the grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judy; brothers-in-law, Larry Stettner, Kirk Goertzen and Frank Brumbaugh and sister-in-law, Carolyn Roehrs
Those left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Tim (Alycia) Robertson of Waverly and Joshua (Aleesha) Roehrs of Hampton; four grandchildren, McKenzie and Carter and Rhett and Ellie; siblings, Barbara Stettner of Hampton, Allan Roehrs of Bradshaw, Phyllis Brumbaugh of Bradshaw and Sharon Goertzen of Hampton; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie (Jim) Nickolaus of Hampton and Sherry (Rick) Otto of Grand Island and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
