The Rev. Harlan Heier of Lincoln died on Oct. 20, 2025. He was 94.
Harlan Frederick Heier was born on Oct. 14, 1931, in Wayne, Neb., to Frederick and Helena (Bartling) Heier. He married Shirley June Larsen on June 28, 1953, in Ruskin, Neb.
Survivors include children, Craig Heier, Lincoln, Beth (Neal) Lurz, Leawood, Kan., Keith (Pam) Heier, Kenesaw, Neb., Joyce (Dan) Templeton, Omaha, Neb., Kent (Janice) Heier, St. Joseph, Mo., and Deanne (Paul) Scheel, Lincoln, Neb.; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Byron (Barbara) Heier, Wayne, Neb.; sisters-in-law, Betty Heier, Wayne, Neb., Eleanor (Charles) Stiles, Superior, Neb., and Joanne McChesney, Lincoln; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Harlan was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; sister, Twila Wiltse; brother, Darrel Heier; and grandson, Ryan Lurz.
Viewing: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, with family present from 2 to 4 p.m., at Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home, 4040 A St., Lincoln. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27 at First Lutheran Church, 1551 S. 70th St., Lincoln.
