Jon P. Loreman

Jon P. Loreman, age 75, of York, Nebraska, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2025, in Grand Island, Nebraska.
He was born on April 1, 1950, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Betty Smith and was adopted on August 18, 1950, by Loren and Dorothy Loreman of Benedict, Nebraska, where he grew up on the family farm. Jon graduated from Benedict High School in 1968 and Grand Island School of Business in 1969.
Following graduation, Jon proudly served his country from 1970-1976 in the United States Air Force. During those 6 years, Jon was stationed at Travis AFB, California and Hickam AFB, Hawaii.
On March 12, 1972, Jon was united in marriage to Deborah Joynt in Hastings, Nebraska. Together they built a life filled with love, family, and countless memories.
After being discharged from the Air Force, Jon and his family moved back to York. He was employed in many different jobs. Those included: Co-op in Bradshaw, Miller Seed and Supply in York, Freightliner in Grand Island, Meginnis Ford in Lincoln, Sahling Kenworth and Moses Ford in York.
Jon was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker and Oklahoma Sooner fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR races. He especially loved spending time with his family at Harlan County Reservoir, where many cherished memories were made and countless stories were told. Jon also enjoyed sitting outside, visiting with neighbors, telling stories with the Troesters and the Magnussens.
Jon was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He cherished the time he had with his great-grandchildren. He loved them all very much.
Jon is survived by his wife, Debbie of York; sons, Eric and Chad of York; grandchildren, Creighton (Kendra) Loreman of York, Zayden Loreman of Norfolk, Payton Loreman of Lincoln, Izaiah Loreman and Xzavier Loreman of Gretna, and Azayla Loreman of York; great-grandchildren, Dallas Perchal of Lincoln and Brynlee Loreman of York; mother-in-law, Aryllis Joynt of Hastings; and brother-in-law, Dave (Kathy) Joynt of Doniphan, NE. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, birth mother and sisters, Linsey Snider, Lita Jensen; half-sister, Brenda Hensel; and father-in-law, Darrell Joynt.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am, Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York. Burial with military honors will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in York. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 2 from 1-8 pm, with family greeting friends from 6-7:30 pm that evening, all at the mortuary in York. Memorials may be directed to the family.
