Patricia A. Branz age 89 of York, Neb., formerly of Gresham, Neb., died Thursday, November 6th, long-time at York. She was born February 27, 1936, in Shelby, Neb., to Raymond and Pearl (Graff) Doty. On March 17, 1956 she was united in marriage to Fredrick D. Branz in Shelby, Neb. Pat was a member of the Gresham Presbyterian Church where she was a long-time choir director and was a Gold Star member of the Gresham American Legion Auxiliary for over 70 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star Utica Chapter and was a daughter of the Nile. Pat loved playing Bridge with several groups over the years and enjoyed everything "Husker." She attended all of her family's activities wherever they were and loved cooking for them as well.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Karl) Dunivent of Cottage Grove, Minn.; and her son, Douglas (Ann) Branz of York. Her grandchildren include Eric (Angie) Dunivent also of Cottage Grove, Clay (April) Dunivent of Kansas City, Mo., Darrel (Krista) Branz of York, Betsy Hanna of LaVista, Neb., and Tyler (Nichole) Branz of Norwalk, Iowa. Great-grandchildren include Fiona Dunivent and Emmit Dunivent of Cottage Grove, Clayton Branz, Reese Branz, and Wyatt Branz of York, Kolby Hanna, Ava Hanna, Quinn Hanna and Calvin Hanna of LaVista, Bryant Branz and Jackson Branz of Norwalk, Iowa. Also surviving is her sister, Sue (Cliff) Powers of York; sister-in-law, LaVawn Whiting of Sonoma, Calif.; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 am, Friday, November 14, 2025 at the Gresham Presbyterian Church with the Reverend John Nellessen officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Gresham following services. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 pm Thursday with her family greeting friends from 6 to 7:30 pm that same evening all at the mortuary in York. Memorials may be directed to the Gresham Presbyterian Church, Gresham Fire Department, or to her family for later designation.
