Shirley Jean Buller

Shirley Jean Buller, age 89 died peacefully Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Legacy Square in Henderson. Shirley was born January 30, 1936, to Jake and Mathilda (Janzen) Penner and was the 2nd of 4 children. She was brought up in the Bethesda Mennonite Church, accepted Jesus as her savior as a child, and was baptized in 1953.
Shirley graduated from Henderson High School in 1954, and on June 11, 1954, she married Donald A Buller. They were blessed with 3 daughters, Teresa, Libby, and Karen.
Don and Shirley lived about 16 years of their married life in Henderson and later moved to Stromsburg where Don served as a hospital administrator at the Osceola hospital. Later they returned to Henderson for their retirement. In 2014, just short of 60 years of marriage, Don, the love of her life passed away.
Shirley was active in her church choir for many years and served with Don on the MCC priced food committee for 10 years.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughters and their spouses, Teresa and Dale Regier of Abbotsford, British Columbia, Libby and Scott Brettmann of Fremont, Nebraska, and Karen and Mark Dick of Henderson, Nebraska; grandchildren, Carlin and husband, Blake Buhrman, Jonathan Regier, and Jordan and wife, Sarah Regier, Shelby, Jameson, and Jackson Brettmann, MacKenzie and husband, Zach Richert, and Mikaelyn and husband, Avery Franz; and great-grandchildren, Reece and Landry Buhrman, Braelyn and Berkley Richert, and Baker Franz. She is also survived by her brother and sisters, Lauren Penner, JoAnn and husband, Dale Buller, and Berdine Buller, as well as many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are sister and brothers-in-law, Carolyn Buller, Donna and Randy Ratzlaff, and Leroy and Connie Trautman. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law. Twila Penner; and brothers-in-law, Lee Buller and Glen Buller.
Graveside services will be held 1:15 p.m., Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the Bethesda Cemetery northeast of Henderson. Memorial services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson. Visitation will be held from 1-9:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 21, 2025, with her family greeting friends from 6-8:00 p.m. all at the mortuary in Henderson. Also, visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Wednesday morning at the mortuary. Memorials may be directed to the Bethesda Mennonite Church or the MCC.
