Willis "Bill" L. Hohnbaum, age 81, of Wichita, Kan., died Friday, March 14, 2025, in Wichita. He was born on October 1, 1943, to Kenneth V. and Nettie Lucille (Downer) Hohnbaum in Council Bluffs, Iowa. On April 20, 1968, he was united in marriage to Jeanette Dickey in York, Neb.
Bill was a supervisor at Certain Teed Corporation. He was a member of York's Elks Club. Bill enjoyed golfing, fishing, traveling and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly (Mark) Stauffer of Wichita, and Wendy Hohnbaum of Moundridge, Kan.; five grandchildren, Taylor (Dan) Powers of Hastings, Minn., Sydney (Blake) Tauer of Wichita, Olivia Stauffer of Wichita, Allison (Dustin) Horn of Moundridge, Ashley Holler of Wichita; three great-grandchildren, Ryan Holler, Paisley Horn, and Colter Horn; sister, Gale Apple of Hastings, Neb., and former wife, Jeanette Cox of McPherson, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry; and sister, Georgia Jones.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at York's Greenwood Cemetery. There was no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. Condolences may be left for the family at metzmortuary.com. Metz Mortuary in York is handling the arrangements.
