Cecelia Georgette Barton

1977 - 2023

God brought Cecelia to peace Friday, March 17, 2023, in Tulsa, at 45 years of age. She was born Saturday, July 2, 1977, in Claremore. Cecelia was raised in Okmulgee, is an Okmulgee High School Class of 1995 alumni and graduated with an associate's degree from Oklahoma State University. She attended Arbeka Indian Baptist Church & Fundamental Indian Baptist Church. She served as President of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary & The Wild Boar Foundation, and was an active supporter of the Chili Fest, Scare on the Square, and the Okmulgee Homeless Shelter. She enjoyed St. Patrick's Day, collecting antiques, cooking, baking, reading and, above all else, she loved spending time with her family, especially her niece and nephews.
Cecelia was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Bennie & Lillian Leybas of Okmulgee; her father Charles Wayne Tiger of Weleetka; niece Graciella Mao-Lani Mathews-Tiger of Okmulgee; brother-in-law Darryl Tiger of Okmulgee; maternal uncle Kenny Leybas of Beggs; paternal aunt Ramona Tiger of Weleetka; cousins Asa John Leybas of Okmulgee; David Wayne Van Straten of Okmulgee; Antonia Rodriquez of Henryetta; and Amanda Leigh Durden of Morris. She is survived by her grandmother Helen Tiger of Weleetka; her mother Bertha Brown of Okmulgee; her sisters Camela Tiger & Sally Van Straten-Berryhill of Okmulgee; her nephews and niece Dominic, Jason, & Isabella Tiger of Okmulgee; and numerous other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee, where a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2023.
