Edward (Eddie) Henry Ochoa, 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, August 5th. He was born February 21, 1929, in Yuma, Arizona. Eddie graduated from Yuma High School, Class of 1947. Eddie loved sports from an early age and was a life-long fan of the San Diego Padres who he followed from Yuma to San Diego for decades.

He enlisted in the United States Army December 1950 and served in the Korean War. Eddie later returned to Yuma and became an Agricultural Foreman. At this time, he met the love of his life, Rosita who he married on April 4, 1959. Eddie and Rosa have four wonderful children, Patricia, Sandra, Edward, and Monica. Eddie was the most loving husband and father. He did everything possible to make his family happy. Eddie Ochoa was a devout Catholic who prayed for each of his family and friends every day. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and held the Shrine of St. Jude Thaddeus close to his heart.

Eddie later worked at the Ramada Inn as the Office Manager. He had an outstanding work ethic and enjoyed going to work each day. Eddies zest for life included an unwavering committed faith and his choice for always having a positive attitude. My dearest condolences to you Mrs. Ochoa and your children. On this anniversary, in honor of the passing of Mr. Ochoa and for other family members, and friends, that have gone before us, I accepted Holy Communion, will go to confession, and continue to honor the Sacred Heart of Jesus by attending Holy Mass and performing the above mentioned actions, on every first Friday, for the next 9 months. Mr. Ochoa was a good, Catholic man, who created a beautiful and good Catholic daughter, who I had the privilege to share a part of my life with, making cherished memories, I'll never forget. I pray, eternal rest grant unto him O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Rosa, Patricia, Sandra, Eddie and Monica I know heaven has joyfully celebrated Eddie's arrival along with your family already there waiting for him. Let's focus on the eternal joy he's enjoying now and forever more!!! I can see him transformed into a healthy young man with his trusty transistor radio by his side blaring out a San Diego Padres baseball game. This is how I remember him in the 1970s. I pray you are comforted in knowing he was a good and spiritually strong child of Jesus Christ with a loving belief in Saint Jude. May the souls of the faithful departed, especially Eddie, through the mercy of God rest in peace, Amen.
