Jaimie Elaine Lay

1979 - 2016

On February 1st, 2016, heaven received another angel. Born October 19, 1979, our beloved daughter and sister, Jaimie Elaine Lay, joined her Heavenly Father. She will be greatly missed by her family, and the many friends she had gathered throughout her life. She never met a stranger, and was always kind-hearted and generous to those in need; she was the type of person that once met was never forgotten. Jaimie left this Earth due to sudden complications from a long illness.

Jaimie had worked at YPG on some Special Projects, and then was a server at IHOP for several years until her illness prevented her from continuing work. She loved cooking, reading, movies and walking in the park. She also loved writing, especially poetry, and had an avid interest in anthropology and archeology.

Jaimie was preceded in death by her grandparents, David E. and Winnie Lee, and Troy D. and Baby Ruth Lay. She is survived by her parents, Linda R. Lee of Yuma, and Walter Dale Lay of Belize, brother Jason Waine Lay of Yuma, cousin Christopher David and Mary Lee of Yuma, fiancée John Edward LeBlanc of Yuma, and many extended Lay family members in Oklahoma. Jaimie also leaves behind her beloved Min Pins, Punkin, Tickle, Sassy, Pebbles, Jada and Cookie… she was always leader of the pack.

In accordance with her stated wishes, there will not be a typical funeral to mourn her, but rather a celebration of her life will take place on March 26, 2016 at the West Wetlands Park, Ramada 33, from 2pm to 6pm. Kammann Mortuary is handling cremation, also per her wishes.
