Jimmy Murdock was born to George and Shirley Murdock in Yuma, Arizona on February 16, 1959. He was the youngest of four children and loved each of his older siblings.

Jimmy always took great pride in his farming heritage and lived up to the Murdock legacy. Never having met a stranger, his great sense of humor made people laugh and it allowed him to make friends easily. Jimmy loved being out in nature and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He made great memories with family and friends on numerous hunting trips and the funny stories abound. Jimmy loved sports and was a member of the Antelope High School Basketball team that took the state title in 1977. Jimmy served for many years on the Yuma County Junior Livestock Committee, spending countless hours dedicated to our youth. Many Friday nights you could find Jimmy at a football game holding his end for the Chain Gang at Antelope High School. He always served on the Mohawk Valley School Board and the Tacna Volunteer Fire Department board.

Jimmy was married to Debanie, his greatest love, for 42 years. Together in Roll, they raised four beautiful and kind daughters. He took great pride in each of his girls and was brought immeasurable pleasure in spending time with his eight grandchildren. When watching his family, he also had a smile on his face and a hug to give.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, George Murdock, and nieces, Julie Fisher and Lindsay Taylor. He leaves behind his wife, Debanie, as well as daughters, Chelsea (Chris) Patmont, Jamie (Kurt) Gottschling, Caitlin (Sara) Murdock, and Lindy (Robert) Green. He is also survived by his much-loved grandchildren; Quinston Patmont, Rylan Patmont, Addison Murdock, Kyler Gottschling, Harper Gottschling, Leighton Green, Chloe Patmont, and Lincoln Green. Jimmy's mother Shirley Murdock and siblings; Kenny (Terri) Murdock, Carol (Jeff) Fisher, and Janet (Ron) Taylor also survive him. Brother-in-law, Fred Gomez; sister-in-law, Timilie Lauderdale and many nieces and nephews are left behind as well.

The family farm was always a priority in his life, and he never tired of watching the crops grow and mature with his own roots deep in the soil. Jimmy loved his family and friends just as deeply. His absence will leave a hole in our hearts, but we can be comforted by our many memories and continue his legacy by treasuring those in our lives who bring great meaning as he did.
