I called him my "Stept-Dad", but he was much, much more. He lit up a room just by walking in. He could make us laugh without even trying. We knew when he and Mom came to town there would be a party. He WAS the the party. People wanted to be around him and he made everyone feel he was their friend. Bob gave Mom the best 32 years of her life. We will never forget him nor will we ever stop loving him.

It's been just over one week since my dad passed away. When I woke up this morning he was the first person on my mind. It seemed hard to imagine that on this side of life I would never see him again. But one day I will.
As I read over everybodys comments about my dad I felt blessed.
Here is what all of you said about my dad.
*He had a great smile.(I want his smile)
*A wonderful smile
*He was always smiling.
*An upbeat man.
*Full of life.
*A fun loving nature.
*Mischievous twinkle.
*He gave big hugs. (He got them too.)
*A man of warmth.
*A light for untraveled roads.
*Grumpy Bear.(watch out!)
*Wonderful uncle.
*Very special uncle.
*A good friend.
*A dear friend.
*Special man.
*Wonderful man.
*Wonderful person
*Wonderful friend and neighbor
*A great joke and story teller. (I'll never forget some of them.)
And finally the three best I will always cherish.
*He was loved and he loved.
*A real American hero.
*Perfectly paired to his wonderful wife phyllis. (So true!)
Thank you all for your words. For in them, there is power and I am humbled by your love for my dad.
See you at the gates dad. Until then I will think of you when I look into your grandson's eyes. (Benjamin my own son)
