Robert Thomas Taylor, known to many family and friends as "RT" entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, December 9, 2015. He passed away peacefully at home after fearlessly battling pancreatic cancer for the past twenty nine months. Robert was born on December 14, 1947 in Yuma, Arizona to Homer and Beatrice Taylor. He lived in the Somerton area until his family moved to Wellton-Mohawk community when he was a sophmore in high school.

He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 47 years, Sharon Taylor, Roll, Arizona their two son's Brian (Rhona) Taylor of Palmer, Alaska and Garrett (Tammy) Taylor of Wellton, Arizona. Robert will be fondly remembered by his six grandchildren, Miranda, Kyle, Robert, Tripp, Carson and Bree. His loving brother Gene (Wilma) Taylor of Roll, Arizona, and so many more family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Homer and Beatrice Taylor.

Robert proudly served our nation in the U.S. Army from January 8, 1968 to January 11, 1970 and earned the rank of Sergeant as a Radar Technician at Ft. Bliss, Texas.

He worked for McElhaneys Cattle Company for a few years in the breeding program of Charolais cattle after getting out of the Army. For the last 45 plus years Robert was employed at the Yuma County Public Works, working his way up to the position of Project Manager. He recently became a member of the B.P.O. My deepest condolences to Robert's family.

I have known Robert for over thirty years working at Yuma County Public Works. I will miss Robert coming into my office and saying "Tell me a story". Robert was a rich man. Not on how much money he had but on how many friends and family he had that loved him. Yuma County Department of Public Works will miss him. I will miss our conversations.

Robert and I went to Antelope Union High School together in Wellton. Although Robert was a couple years ahead of me in school I remember him as being a very fun loving easy guy to like. Too many times we might find ourselves saying "I wish I would have taken the time to know him or her better." This is indeed the case with Robert.
Robert, your race is now over. Your problems and pains are now a a thing of the past. Your children and grandchildren are the lasting gifts you have left the world. Your memory will live forever in them and through them.
Rest well my friend until we meet again.

The candle of Eternal flame
Without you here
It will never be the same.
This candle will always burn for you
Our hearts have pain.
But God has work for you to do.

Uncle Robert, god called you home. He needed another angel to watch over us. He no longer could have u in pain. I know you and my dad and Doug Rider are probably trying to convince the almighty on paving roads. Either from there to here or here to there. But i can already see it. Well the road you traveled we partially know. Only you know that road all so well. God took you home so you can rest.We all know God takes the Best.As tears roll down our face. There will never be a uncle to take your place.Give us strentgh to get us through .We must face our days without seeing you.We know you will always be near,But its not the same, without you here.R.I.P Uncle Robert. Love and miss you always. Your Niece Laurie A.Franklin.I will never forget our Christmas/New Years tradition out on the desert. I think you always called it mystery meat. Lol. I love you Uncle. I wished i could be there.
