Ruby Neal Obituary
Ruby worked for Yuma School District #1 from 1969 to 2003 and she retired as cafeteria Manager at Main cafeteria. She was grandma to many children. She loved her job and everyone she worked with.
Ruby's faith in God was one of her greatest strengths and her understanding and love for her children never doubted. She will be missed and always in our hearts.
Ruby is survived by her sons, John B. (Lynda) Neal, David L. Neal; daughter, Marti Neal; granddaughter, Peggi L (Jason) McLaughlin; great-grandson, Tyler Hodgin; great-granddaughter, Morgan McLaughlin.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Jack B. Neal; son, Robert J. Neal; brother, Doyle Gills.
Rev. 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; the former things are passed away.
Private services were held at Johnson Mortuary at Ruby's request.

Mom,I want to say thank you for understanding any situation, and your unconditional love and support.You were always there for the family and made our house A home.How you found the strength and get up and go was amazing ma! For those of you who worked with my mom over the years I can tell you she had the time of her life and loved you all;The kids that went through her lunch line made her day and she worried and cared about them as if they were her own. Out of all the advice you have given me over the years mom the one that comes to mind most often is when you would tell me "now just be nice Dave". Our world is not going to be the same without you,but I think A lot of us are better because of you .I miss you; but I know you will be with me every step of the way. Mom,you always gave me these words to live by,"no one else is better than you,and you're no better than anyone else." Mom I'm going to disagree this time,You were the best friend a daughter could have,the best physic(you always knew when your children needed you)the best story teller(if you could finish without laughing so hard)the best dancer(even if was by yourself)the best piano player(even though every tune sounded like The Ol'Rugged Cross)But most of all the best mother and grandmother,our memories and your spirt will always be with us. Marti and brothers: Had to share more Ruby stories..... at our last managers meeting we had a story telling session about what we remembered about Ruby. We really needed to dedicate that time to her and what she meant to us. What I thought might take a few minutes for all to share ended up being far more time than I imagined. We laughed, laughed and then laughed. I wish we had taped those stories for you, I wish you had been there....but like most times in life we are left with the memories of that day.

Marti and family, I know you are with broken hearts at this time, but you will rejoice in the memories. I always enjoyed talking with Ruby (or should I say laughing)...she made sure you never walked away with a smile. I always told her, "Ruby, you need to go on Comedy Central!" So sorry for the loss of your wonderful and loving mother. Thank you for allowing me to come into your home in Ruby's late days they will be the most treasured memories along with the stories that David would share with me over the years, I always looked forward to them. Anyone that knew Ruby knew the wisdom that she had - she shared it with all, but some didn't listen! No matter how you tried to prove her wrong she was always right, how did that work? No one, and I mean no one can take her place. We will always have our Ruby stories to make us laugh! If you didn't listen and learn from her you miss out on lessons to take you through life.

Marti, John and David I want you to know how much your sweet mother meant to me. When I started work for the district your mom was my boss she was kind and taught me everything she knew about food service. I loved her then and I loved her when she passed. We never had the pleasure of working with Ruby...but listening to all the stories makes us very sorry we didn't have that opportunity. She sounded like a true character and it would have been fun to have known her. We're all very sorry for the Neal family's loss.

I want you all to know how much your mother gave me in our years of sitting by each other at managers meeting with YSD#1. Oh the words of wisdom she gave me will never be forgot and if you knew Ruby then you know the kind of wisdom I am talking about. She made me laugh, go wow and just think at times about her "Rubyisems" as I called them. I will never forget her. My heart goes out to you, she was one in a million. Your in my thoughts.

My condolences to Ruby's family. I was blessed to wait on Ruby when I worked at both Safeway and Albertsons. She always had a smile and a pleasant radiance about her.
