William Pickrell Obituary

ALEXANDRIA: A memorial service for William R. Pickrell, 63, of Alexandria, will be held Monday, June 8, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 West Main Street, Newark with Pastor Gus Christo-Baker officiating.
Mr. Pickrell died Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at his residence. He was born February 25, 1946 in Zanesville, Ohio to William Roy and Louella M. (Flynn) Pickrell.
Mr. Pickrell was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a retired area pharmacist and had been a part-owner and pilot for Central Skyport Charter Service. He was a corpsman in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict.
Survivors include his mother, Louella; wife of 22 years, Janet (Covey) Pickrell, whom he married September 13, 1986; sons, Christopher and Lorena, Sean and Mindy, Matt and Lori; brother, Patrick and Lynn; mother-in-law, Jean Covey; four grandchildren, Alexandria, Damien, Zachary and Morgan; along with his special pets.
The family will receive friends Monday from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family requests memorial contributions to Hospice organizations or the USO. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home
