Audrey E. Gookins

ZANESVILLE: Audrey E. Gookins, 96, of Zanesville, died at 2:40 P.M. on Friday, February 27, 2015, at the Adams Lane Care Center.

She was born June 11, 1918, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Roy and Hilda Flowers Harris LeMay. Audrey was a lifetime member of Brighton Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Lynn (Bill) Heiser and Joan Morrison both of Zanesville; six grandchildren, Kampsee (Ken) Weber of O'Fallen, MO, Sally (Chris) Wilson of Zanesville, Jennifer (Joe) Abdon of Pataskala, Jamie Shannon of Zanesville, Stacey Morrison of Dresden, James (Andrea) Scheffler of North Carolina; 12 great grandchildren, Brittnee (Ian) Dicks, Marine Corporal Hannah (Ronnie) Loehrke, Katherine Kirby, Jade Shannon, Ashleigh Shannon, Helena Hastings, Madison Scheffler, Patrick Shannon, Blake Shannon, Daylin Hindel, Joseph Hindel, Skyler Abdon; a great great granddaughter,Aribella M. Dicks; two sisters-in-law, Bobbi Rust and Irene (George) Bailey both of Zanesville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Don Gookins, who died June 17, 1961; step-father, Youry LeMay; a brother, Gale Harris; a grandson, Steven J Heiser; twin great granddaughters, Stacey and Andi Hastings.

Friends and family may call from 11:00 A.M. till the time of service at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, with Rev. Sue Ellen Skinner officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Don at Zanesville, Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville.
