Barbara Packer Obituary
THORNVILLE: A funeral service celebrating the life of Barbara M. Packer, age 93, of Thornville, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3, at the Thornville home of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service with the Rev. Dr. Winfield Strout officiating. Burial will take place in Lutheran Reformed Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, at the funeral home, 56 South Main Street, Thornville.
Barbara was born October 3, 1923 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Ester and Erma Agnes (Reed) Bash . She passed away on Friday, April 28, 2017 at her home.
Barbara was a 1941 graduate of Thornville High School. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, the Vibrators A. Ford Club of Newark and was a charter member of the Carnation Ohio Child Conservation League.
She is survived by a son, Robert B (Shirley A.) Packer of Thornville; daughter, Elaine K. (James D.) Foltz of Thornville; seven grandchildren, Brian D. (Tammy) Foltz, Jason L. Foltz, Derek R. Foltz, Adam B. (Ashley) Foltz, Gretchen L. (Gavin) Waggoner, Anjanette L. (Jason) Pitcock, Ryan B (Mandi) Packer; great-grandchildren, Cecilia J., Alex D. and Katy K. Foltz, Anderson N. and Adeline G. Foltz, Reid B Packer, Camdyn N Packer, Carmen A. Packer, Grayson J. Waggoner, Greer I. Waggoner, Ella L. Pitcock and Julia G. Packer; a sister, Marilyn Alspach of Thornville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard B Packer on January 28, 2003; and by great-grandsons, Eric Z. Foltzand Griffin J. Waggoner.
