Cesidia "Sue" Lollo Smith
SOMERSET: Cesidia "Sue" Lollo Smith, 86, of Somerset, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Fairfield Medical Center.
Sue was born July 11, 1927 in New Lexington, Ohio, to the late Nicola and Vincenza Lollo.
Sue graduated from St. Aloysius in 1945. She was a telephone operator for Ohio Bell for 12 years. On October 2, 1954, she married Paul E. "Gene" Smith. Sue was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and participated in many committees throughout the years. She strongly believed that your faith should be accompanied by good works.
She was a life long Democrat who held a lot of spaghetti fund raisers for candidates. In her later years she used her skills on the phone to help local candidates. She enjoyed being a member of the Perry County Democratic Women's Club. Her proudest role was that of mother and grandmother.
Celebrating her life are her children, Patricia (Michael) Blakely, Stephen (Dena) Smith, Laura (Rick) Parker, Vincent (Cynthia) Smith, and John (Judy) Smith; her grandchildren, Alicia Parker, Gerad (Kandi) Parker, Andrea (Patrick) Cullinen, Eric (Jordan) Parker, Allison (Jordan) Rhodes, Collin Smith, Connor Smith, Adelyn Smith and Mitch (Arianne) Clouse; great-grand-children, Ally and Aryn Huffman, Kolbi Parker, Emma Rhodes, Jack and Evan Clouse; sisters-in-law, Margie Wilson, Virginia (Jim) Dittoe, Miriam Smith, Elaine Smith, Mary Lee Smith and Annie Smith; brothers-in-law, Albert (Rose) Smith, Martin Smith, Kenny (Mary Rose) Smith, Bobbie (Diane) Smith, Bill Smith and Ralph (Gloria) Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Smith; a grandson, Aaron Smith, and brothers, Andrew, Anthony, Victor, Patrick and Carlo Lollo.
The family would like to thank her neighbors and friends for all they did for her to enjoy being in her home.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2013 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Dean Mathewson as celebrant, assisted by the Rev. Mr. Gene Dawson. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery.
