CORNING: Dorothy V. Murphy, 86 of Corning, passed away Wednesday November 13, 2013 at her daughter's residence.

Born September 27, 1927 in Perry County, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Mildred McConaha Giffin. She worked at Siemer's Grocery in Corning for 33 years and was a member of the Corning United Methodist Church. She enjoyed collecting coins.

She is survived by her husband, Dale Murphy of Corning; one daughter, Amy (Teresa Graves) Murphy of Somerset; four grandchildren, Kari Doughty, Laci Mattox, Heather Graves Thompson, and Karen Graves; seven great grandchildren, Zachary, Amber, Alexis, Caiden, Abby, Gaige, and Chloe; two sisters, Janet Smith of Jacksonville and Freda Degarmore of Corning; sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Giffin of Canal Winchester; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Carolyn Derenburger and Donna Dixon; and two brothers, Kenny and Gene Giffin.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Fair Hope Hospice for all their care and support during this time.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday November 15, 2013 at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, 6525 S. State Route 78, Glouster, Ohio 45732. Interment will be in the Millertown Cemetery, Corning. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
