SOMERSET: Louise (Melick) Cooperider, 99, of Somerset, died Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Autumn Healthcare of Somerset.

Louise was born December 15, 1913 in Mt. Perry, Ohio to the late Evi and Lulu (Amerine) Melick.

She was a homemaker and an avid quilter. Louise was a member of Mt. Perry Presbyterian Church, the Farm Bureau Council, and was a graduate of Somerset High School.

She is survived by her oldest son and daughter-in-law, Neil and Linda Cooperider of Mt. Perry; seven grandchildren, Brian (Shauna) Cooperider of Columbus, Todd Cooperider of Grove City, Sheryl (Todd) Blank of Hagerstown, MD, Lori Cooperider of Miami, FL, Greg (Luanne) Frizzell of Newark, Mark (Debbie) Frizzell of Millersport and Ron (Michelle) Cooperider of Rushville; 14 great-grandchildren; many great-great grandchildren; sister, Mary Ellen Rushfeldt of Tacoma, WA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Merrill (Bill) Cooperider in 1994; son, M. Eugene Cooperider in 2010; daughter-in-law, Janet Cooperider in 2003; brothers, Owen, Oscar, Kelson, Robert and Oden Melick; sisters, Hazel Melick, Margaret Buker, Elizabeth Doyle and Mildred Heathman.

Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, October 13, 2013 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 14, 2013 with Pastor Thom Burbridge officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Glenford, Ohio.
