Pleasantville - Richard Lee Scott, Died at 2:00AM Sunday March 18, 2018 at his home in Pleasantville Ohio. He was born on March 14, 1929 in Newton Twp. Muskingum Co. Ohio.

Richard was a Navy Veteran He was a longtime resident of Muskingum Co, Ohio and then near Pleasantville, Ohio and wintered in Okeechobee Florida for the last 35 years. He retired as a industrial maintenance electrician from National Can. Owned Scott Appliance in South Zanesville, built homes around Chandlersville, worked at Kaiser Aluminum, Western Electric, and M.K.-R.L Scott Builders. When he retired, he got his license and sold real estate in Okeechobee. He enjoyed traveling 1st when he was a private pilot with his Piper Cherokee and then later with his motorhome. He had visited all 50 states.

He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Margaret (Dickerson) Scott. His daughters Sherry L. Scott of St. Petersburg Fl, Debra Sue (Wood) Carpenter , and Vicky Smith (Mark), his grandchildren Scott Wood (Nicolle Zuck-Wood) Robert Wood (Brandy Barrett) Alan Smith and Brandy Smith-Wilkes (Zebadiah) Great-grandchildren Dezuhray Barrett, Coraline Wilkes, Leland Barrett. Many nieces and nephews. Honored 4 legged companions Stormy and Bo, family friend, Lee Carpenter

He was proceeded in death by his parents Elsie Mae Grether-Scott-Johnson-Atherton and Thomas J. Scott and his 6 brothers and their spouses; Glenn J. Scott (Betty), Kenneth E. Scott (Ann), Delard Scott (Thelma), Thomas R. Scott (Mildred), William J. Scott (Ina), Charles E. Scott (Rose) and infant son Richard L. Scott Jr.

Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 Noon on Tue. March 20, 2018 at William Thompson and Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Drive in White Cottage. Services will be immediately following. Friends may contribute in his memory to FairHope Hospice Lancaster Ohio.

Private ceremony at a later date and burial of the cremains at Fultonham Cemetery, Muskingum Co. Ohio
