Verna Sims Obituary

ZANESVILLE: Verna Jo Sims, 64, of Zanesville, passed away on Wednesday July 14, 2010 at Genesis Hospice.
She was born on May 26, 1946 in Zanesville to the late John Emory and Faye Elizabeth Rush Pierce. She was a cosmetologist and worked at the Hair Happening Salon. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed her family.
She is survived by her husband, William Sims of Zanesville; a daughter, Lisa (Mark) Metz of Zanesville; a son, John (Sarah) Sims of Nashport; two brothers, Robert (Ann) Pierce of Zanesville, David (Linda Sue) Pierce of Zanesville; and two grandchildren, Donovan Metz and Kaci Sims; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Pierce; and a nephew, Ernie Pierce.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Sunday July 18, 2010 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 W. Military Road Zanesville. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 19, 2010 in the Snouffer Chapel with Pastor Jim Peters officiating. Burial will follow at the Zanesville Memorial Park.
