My condolences to the entire family of Robert Ingersoll. Robert, my late wife (Patricia Bartee Niesen) and I (Randy Niesen) were good friends for many years, and he has been missed.

Robert was an old, and dear friend, to both of us. We all shared some cherished moments, which will never be forgotten. We knew Robert both as a neighbor, and school buddy, dating back to approx. 1968, and perhaps even earlier. We spent nearly every weekend down at the movie theater together, with our dates. He was a good friend, who liked to have fun, but also had his mischevious moments too, such as one night after returning our Friday night dates back to their homes, as I approaching a curve on the highway, Robert just reached over a took a firm grip on the steering wheel. The result was that instead of going around the curve, we coninued to go straight, right thru a snow bank, and ended up facing backwards, and high centered in approx. 4 feet of snow. Robert of coarse was getting quite a laugh out of this, while I was quite ticked off at him for it. I had to walk to the nearest house, and luckily someone was still up, and they allowed me to use the telephone to call for a wrecker to tow us out. Well, approx. 2 hrs later the wrecker arrived, and we were set free from the snow bank again. Robert was a pickle like that sometimes, but you just couldn't help but like him anyway. He will be missed by all of us who knew him. Rest in Peace Robert.
