Amazing how fast time flys, as I sat here in my office and looked over at your pic and obituarty write up and decided to laminate it for future saving, and googled this page. Amazing to stop and see the amount of people you touched in a positive way, not that it suprised me, and to still wonder why? I know everything is meant for a reason but none the less I'm still lost for words. Any Hoo, cant wait to meet Jacob now that hes gotten older and tell him some crazy stories about his dad. I'll see ya soon brother..
August 18, 2013
Today is Jacob's 9th birthday. Wish you were here to help him celebrate it. We are always going to be there for him. He will know one day what a great person his daddy was. We miss you everyday and love you so much.

Here I am, using the internet trying to reconnect with family. Your name is one of the only from the long lost family that I could remember. I'm so sorry it took me this long to take initiative to find you, I'm so sorry that life has ended so abruptly for you. I recall the one time we met and just feeling happy that I was able to meet one of my kin, as I often times felt isolated and alone in this world. I see that you have left quite remarkable memories for your friends and family here and I'm sorry we didn't get to know each other better and exchange family stories.

Well Curtis...here I am again, writing in your guest book. Gathering stuff for the memorial hunt to be sent down to Tommy. Sort of bitter sweet, as you can imagine. Talked to Tommy today...unreal how he sounds so much like you...or you sounded like him...but it's uncanny..catches me off guard. We still think of you often, you will not be forgotten. I check in on your mom often. Debbie

I keep checking in to see who has signed in. This is the first time I've been able to write someting and still is very hard. First I want to thank whoever is sponsoring this guest book, I really appreciate it and again thank you. Secondly I want to thank everyone that has signed in and shown your love and friendship to Curtis. He was a very special person in so many ways and a very loving son and my best friend. I miss him so much and it still hurts so much to not have him with us. Time hasn't taken that away and I don't think it ever will. I love you Curtis and I miss you!! Mom

Curtis has been my best friend since before we started school together. We grew up together and took every major step of growing up together. You won't find a better person or friend than Curtis. There is not one single day that goes by that a song or a funny story doesn't remind me of my bud. Miss you and love you Curtis!

Us at SGA miss Curtis more than anyone can know. A bunch of us got together and had some time of remembering you tonight. Curtis you will always be in our hearts - people like you never go away. Thanks for watching over us. When we have weird and crazy days at work when nothing goes right we say "it must be Curtis". When your picture captures my eye I know that you want me to contact your mom. It's so strong, it amazes me. You will NEVER be forgotten.
December 17, 2009
Today I listened to your voice and the cheer and love is still coming loud and clear. Keep watching over us Curtis Dale until the day when we will all be together again. We all miss your "earth" presence so very much but we know that you are ever near in our heart, mind and soul. Rest in peace! Love, Aunt Pud

Ten months ago today we lost our "little light". The one that could always make you laugh, the one that always could talk his way out of any situation and the one that loved his family above all else. It still does not seem real and everyday we ask why him? I guess that maybe someone needed that sense of humor to lift them up more than we needed it. Curtis, we love you and miss you everyday. Please watch over us and especially Jacob, he is a very special little boy!

Curtis LIVED his dash and his spirit is still loud and clear. The following poem may help you as it helped me.
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep,
I am a 1000 winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain,
When you awaken in the mornings hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circle light,
I am the soft star that shines at night,
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.

Every day that passes I think this ache in my heart will be better. It's not. People say the grief gets better with time. So far, no, it hasn't! We miss Curt so dang much, Uncle Doc and I, Gram and Pop, Jacob I'm sure, and for that matter everyone, all the family and all the friends but more than us, his mother and dad and brother miss him beyond comprehension. Our lives forever changed that day in December.
While our sad reality become more apparent every day, I have to believe that Heaven is a whole lot more fun with Curtis there - I hope he tells St. Peter the joke about the two fleas.......
On behalf of Curt's family, thank you everyone for all the kind words, prayers, hugs, food and even more, the visits, the shared tears and the great stories.
Curtis Dale, God bless and keep you until we meet up again.

Curtis used to come and stay at the hotel that I work at whenever he would travel to see his son. He was one of our favorite guests, and we all looked forward to his visits. He was one of the greatest caring guys that I had ever met. Plus, he was a very good cook. He is going to be missed by many. Rest in Peace Curtis, and don't forget to look in on the hotel from time to time. We all miss you!

Where do I even start to say how fortunate I am to have known Curtis. He shared his friendship with so many people. I will truly miss his phone calls as I never knew what wise crack he would have to say! When I think of good people, Curtis and Terry, John and Tom will always be at the top of the list. Curtis and I would talk hunting stories for too long most times. He loved those Big Mule deer bucks. He hunted hard and worked hard. We would talk about his visits with Jacob and how he could not wait to have him come to Ash Fork. I always felt Curtis would be a great Father. I hope someday Jacob will be able to understand what a good guy his dad was. He also spoke of his family often and how much he enjoyed being home. I just still to this day find it hard to believe he is gone! I pray your family will find some peace! Goodbye my good friend Curtis Cauthen, keep smiling!!! Brett, Nevada and Sierra Miller

I worked with Curtis - talked with him almost daily. I am back at work after taking some days off and everywhere I turn is a memory of Curtis. He will be deeply missed by all of us. His deep witted sense of humor will never be matched. I was so honored to meet his family and I can see now why he was in such a hurry to return home after his tours. The Cauthen Family and Ash Fork, AZ will continue to be in my prayers.

You will be deeply missed by many. "lotser Curtis" Although we have been so far apart we have remained close friends through the years. Some of my fondest memories were with Curtis and he will always have a special place in my heart.

Curtis.. A man greatly missed.. I remember all the times him and his brother use to tease me about how many boys I had chasing after me. Curtis became a good friend over the past year or so, we talked many times about anything and everything, mostly we talked about our old trucks. We both had a love for old chevy's, I will always remember seeing him around town in his trucks, always stopping to say hi and visit. To John, Terry, Tommie, Jessica and Kids, and the rest of the Cauthen Family I am so very sorry for your loss, know that Curtis touched every life he ever came into contact with, and will never be forgotten..
To Jacob, Know that your daddy loved you very much, he was very proud of you.. You have his smile!
Until we meet again Curtis know that your in my memories and very missed by all who knew you.

I have a scar on my leg that will forever be a reminder of Curtis. You see, he helped me aquire it when our ATV's collided while riding in the desert. Dave remembers! I still smile when I think about it.
To the Cauthen family: I am so sorry for your loss. Curtis was the "Cool Dude" that most of us only dream of being. He just had that "way" about him that few people on this earth have. What a gentleman! I thank God for the opportunity to have known such a fine man. He will be missed!

Curtis could always be found at the Mobil with that ole truck of his. And my last conversation with him was there as he hugged me and asked how things were going. We had a wonderful conversation and if I had only known it was the last time, I would have hugged him a little tighter. Curtis had a great sense of humor and made everyone laugh. I remember him and Tony throwing jokes out left and right one night trying to top one another. I can't remember laughing that hard ever in my life! We had some good times and I will miss him and our late night meetings at the Mobil when we had a chance to catch up. I know he watching us from up above-until we meet again friend.
My heart felt condolences to John, Terry, Tommie and Jacob.

To the parents of Curtis, we extend our most heartfelt condolences. Curtis was a great friend of my daughter, Karita and I met him only once but talked to him on the phone many times. He always was so courteous and such a delight to talk to. I felt as though I really knew him and I am so heart broken as is our entire family. Our prayers are with you and the entire family. He always talked about his family and his rodeos. What a wonderful testament to the parents of this young man. He loved you all so much.

Knowing Curtis as a young man only, and not as the fine adult that we know he became, it is from deep within our hearts that we believe he has left a void that can never be filled here on earth, and that heaven is all the better for having received such a beautiful soul.

I can not even begin to express the hurt and sadness that has filled my heart with this tragedy. Curtis was a phenomal person who has touched my life for the last 17 years. He always knew how to make me laugh no matter what the situation. He was the most considerate non-judgmental person I knew. I love him very much and he will forever be in my heart. Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.....and Curtis definitey knew how to take people's breath away.
Until we meet again you "ol blister" I will miss you dearly.....from "your ol rockpile".......

It was way to sudden for Curtis to be taken from us. Curtis was such a character, He knew how to be serious at times and also knew how to tell a joke to make everyone laugh so hard they'd end up crying. He was a very loyal and kind person, always had time for everybody. All of the memories I have of him will forever be cherished and remembered. Curtis will forever live in my heart. Love you Aunt Terry, Uncle John, Tommie, Jessica, Kids, Gram and Pop(and the rest of the family). YOU ALL are very dear to me and my family. I could not of asked for a better family.
Anywho, Curtis, I miss you so much. Love you always.

Life has changed for everyone that knew Curtis. He is my cousin, my best friend and the closest person to a brother that I had. He is loved by many family and friends. We all remember the times that he made us smile, laugh and cry smiling. Either playing a friendly game of poker or at a competitive shooting match he wanted to be, and many times was, the best. I admired him for many things one being the way he could talk to total strangers and instantly create connections and friends. I am very proud to have known him so close. He is a brilliant star in the sky and he will never fade in my memory. I am so sorry for my Aunt Terry, Uncle John, Tom and Jacob not mention the entire group of people that were blessed to be able to call Curtis "family".
Jacob, I promise to help you so you will know what a great person your "dad Curtis" was. I just wish so much that you could continue to see it all first hand.
Well Curt, until we meet again please keep notes and a keen eye. I will expect a detailed report, you are technically obligated. "Copy"? (the captain)
