Emily Courtemanche Obituary

AUBURN < Mrs. Emily "Peg" S. Courtemanche, 75, of 3157 E. Genesee Street Road, Auburn, passed away Friday, Aug. 15, 2008, in her home surrounded by her family and under the care of Hospice of the Finger Lakes. A native of Binghamton, "Peg" was the daughter of Raymond and Edna Orcutt Searles and was a lifelong Auburnian. She was a former employee of the Singer Company, GE, and later became a real estate agent for Tuxill Real Estate. She and her husband were former active members of the Cayuga Cut Ups and served as club president for two years. Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Norman J. Courtemanche; their children, Richard (Brenda) Courtemanche, Tuscaloosa, Ala., Susan Courtemanche, Auburn, and Tammy Stevens, Auburn; grandchildren, Jackie, Erica and Airmee, Ryan Courtemanche and Matthew Stevens; one sister, Carolyn Birdsall, Pennsylvania; brother-in-law, Karl Gibbons; many friends including two very special friends, Edna and Helen. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at Farrell"s Funeral Service, Inc., 84 South St., Auburn. Interment will be in St. Joseph"s Cemetery, Fleming.
