Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother LOCKPORT < Marie C. (Nicoletti) Thurston, 81, of Lockport, formerly of Niagara Falls, died on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, at Lockport Memorial Hospital in Lockport. Born in Niagara Falls, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Pauline (Gagliano) Nicoletti. She was predeceased by her first husband Albert DeFazio. On May 30, 1981, she married Harry J. Thurston in Niagara Falls. Marie attended local Niagara Falls schools. She was employed as a secretary at the Carborundum Co., and later in production at the former Nabisco Shredded Wheat Co., both in Niagara Falls. Marie enjoyed traveling, going to the casino and movies, but most of all her greatest pleasure came from family gatherings. In addition to her husband, Harry J. Thurston, Marie is survived by five sons, James DeFazio of Los Angeles, Calif., Gary DeFazio of Phoenix, Ariz., Keith (Angela) DeFazio, of Lockport, Randy (Cathy) DeFazio, of Pennsylvania, and Rick (Sandra) DeFazio, of Niagara Falls; five grandchildren; one brother, Joseph (Marie) Nicoletti, of Lewiston; one sister, Phyllis (Harold) Edwards, of Niagara Falls; and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by two brothers and two sisters, Benjamin Nicoletti, Angelo (late Clara) Nicoletti, Florence (late Chester) Smith and Rose Nicoletti. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, where funeral services will begin at 11:15 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at noon, in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Ave., Niagara Falls. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls.
