Violet May Hubbard

Savannah < Violet May Hubbard, 83, of Route 89, Savannah, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2008, at Seneca Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Waterloo. Violet was born in Minden, Neb., on May 23, 1925, the daughter of the late Elmer and Mary Boysen Nielsen. She resided most of her life in the Savannah-Seneca Falls area and was a 1943 graduate of Mynderse Academy, Seneca Falls. She was retired from the former GTE Sylvania of Seneca Falls and, at one time, had been employed by Gould#"s Pumps of Seneca Falls. She was a member of Savannah Family of God Church, Savannah; the Magee Fire Department Auxiliary of the Town of Tyre; and the Sylvania Retirees Club. She is survived by one son, Alan (Donna) Hubbard, Savannah; two grandsons, Tod (April) Hubbard, Atlanta, Ga., and Eric Hubbard, Seneca Falls; two great granddaughters, Hailey and Ashley Hubbard, Atlanta, Ga. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Earl D. Hubbard, who died December 9, 2001, and her brother, Robert Warren Nielsen. Family and friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26 at the Doran Funeral Home Inc., 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27 at Savannah Family of God Church, 13165 Church St., (Routes 31 & 89), Savannah, with the Rev. Bruce Green, officiating.
