I was one of the lucky ones. I was born into a loud, loving Polish family. My childhood was wonderful - living on the farm, then Steel St. and finally on Scarboro Dr. I remember being surrounded by family, aunts and uncles, and cousins that I loved. I grew up and married at 18, and although my marriage has survived 41 years, my relationship with cousins has mostly disappeared, due to neglect on my part in nurturing it, and the all-too-rapid passing of years. Uncle Stanley was all that everyone else has mentioned: a talented carpenter (the "straw boss" who was responsible for building our river house and teaching Jerry so much - and who fell asleep outside on our deck after one too many beers - much to the chagrin of our kids!). He was generous, thoughtful, kind and caring. I too remember him saying, "do your own thing!" or giving the kids a $20 bill when they were young and saying, "go buy some ice cream." What a guy. With his death, the original Decs are gone. He died the way Mom died - in his sleep and peacefully - and tomorrow is the 19th anniversary of her death. I miss her so, but God is good. Our condolences to Aunt Pat, all my cousins in Auburn, and my cousins around the globe. I think of you with love, and remember fondly memories of what we shared oh so many years ago.

One of the things that inspired me when talling with Uncle Stanley was his ability to always look at the bright side of things. As the family left us, he became my mother, my father, and all my aunts and uncles. And now, he has joined them. Oh how I would love to hear his voice just one more time. I know, if I listen carefully, his voice WILL always be there .. in my heart, along with many treasured memories. I love you, Uncle Stanley !

Enjoy your eternal life with our Lord, Uncle Stanley....
You will be missed. You were always my favorite uncle growing up and made our family trips to Nana's special.

Heavenly Father, thank you for the time you let us have with your son Stanley, and for all you allowed him to do to enrich the lives of all those in his family, and everyone who knew him. Thank you for the memories we all have of his spirit and his love. Please bless his soul and grant him eternal peace in Jesus' name, Amen.

Stanley was really a great man. We had our first apartment at 54 in 1964. What a good job he did on those apartments, a great place to live. After we were there about 1 year, Stanley said he couldn't give us a vacation, but he could lower the rent $5/month. We used his pickup to move into our new home. He will never be forgotten.

Uncle Stanley was a great carpenter. I remember how he remodeled the house on Melrose Road, and the house at the lake. I remember the card parties at Aunt Pat’s and Uncle Joe’s or at home on the lake. He always made me smile. My condolences to the family.

Uncle Stanley will be missed. I always enjoyed sitting outside and drinking the homemade root beer as a kid.

Uncle Stanley will not soon be forgotten. His effervescent personality and carefree attitude mixed with a passion for friends and family will stay with me always. I would call Stanley occasionally to hear his words of wisdom and he would say those familiar words, “keep the faith!” I appreciate how he would always ask about the family and how the kids were doing. When I was going to school he would often say, “you need to get that sheepskin” and it inspired me through thick and thin. I’m glad I had the opportunity to take the kids to visit one of my favorite Uncles so they could meet him and the rest of the family in person. I’m certain he will leave behind many friends and I pray that the good memories comfort us all in our loss of this good man.

Stan....the memories are Great! Club 56 opened its doors mid afternoon and it was the party central of the family, especially your big hearty laugh!! You surely will be missed. There is now a big void in the Auburn area.

To The Dec Family,
My Dad and I are very sorry to hear of Stan's passing. I remember the good times my Dad and Stan would have in the gararge having a few beers. Stan was alot fun to be around. He always had a smile and was always there if you needed anything. He was a very good friend to my dad. We both will miss him dearly, you all are in our thoughts..
