Carmela Graceffo Obituary

AUBURN < Carmela Cristodero Graceffo, 93, of 264 Seymour St., Auburn, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, Oct. 5, 2008, at her home. She was born in Auburn, the daughter of the late Constantino and Orsola Massimiano Cristodero, and had been a life resident. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church. Prior to the retirement, Carmela had been employed for more than 30 years at Auburn Spark Plug. Carmela loved to read many different types of books and enjoyed the countless hours she spent knitting for family and friends. She is survived by her loving sister, Mary Speno, of Auburn; four nieces, Shirley Welch, of Virginia Beach, Va., Patricia O"Connor, of Auburn, Ann Marie Caldero, of Newberry Park, Calif. and Linda Tevis, of California; a sister-in-law, Antoinette Cristodero, of Newberry Park, Calif.; as well as several cousins. In addition to her parents, Carmela was predeceased by her husband, Frank, in 1996; a sister, Emily Kufhta; and three brothers, Rocco, Amadeo and Daniel Cristodero. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 9 at the Pettigrass Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dennis Shaw officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph"s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8 at the funeral home, 196 Genesee St., Auburn.
