John Wilson was a great person. I am grateful that I had the privilege to know him for the last 30 years. He loved his country, and his family. He was a proud patriot and a wonderful hearing examiner. He treated everyone with respect and dignity, and tried to set countless people back on the right track. He was a tenacious runner. I would see him on many occasions running as I drove through New Berlin. He was proud of being able to ski and travel. He had an engaging intellect and was well read in the area of foreign policy and contributed to the Daily Item. He had a soft spot in his heart for his days in Vietnam and the men who died in action. He was loyal to his country, and was a respected citizen. He was an expert and was proud of his Ivy League education at Cornell and his Irish heritage. He recently was glad to make a trek back home to New York. John was a great influence and mentor to many people. He was a great leader and provided the finest example of how to live a wonderful and fulfilling life.

I will always have fond memories of my interactions with John, when I was a young man. He made quite and impression. Though I have not spoken to him in long time, he and his have been in my thoughts often. He will be missed.

As a fairly new parole agent in Pa, I recall 'Hearing Examiner' Wilson as an extremely respectful and courteous person, and keep his positive influence with me to this day. I had no idea of his many and varied accomplishments, aside from skiing, which we had the occasion to compare notes on. My condolences to his family at this difficult time.

What a great guy. I worked at Rockview Correctional Instituton and had the privilege of working with John when he would come into the institution. You could hear the pride and excitement in his voice when he spoke of his family which was often. He was a dedicated professional and was respected by his co-workers and friends. He will be missed. I also know that John was a Christian and told us more than once that he was ready to go. He is in no more pain and is spending his days with Jesus now. My sympathy goes out to the family of this wonderful man.
