Karen Ann Jones Shimer

AUBURN < Karen Ann Jones Shimer, 54, of Steel Street, Auburn, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008, at her residence. Born in Auburn, on Feb. 20, 1954, Karen was the daughter of LaVerne and Elizabeth Sweeting Jones of Auburn. She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Sweeting Jones, of Auburn; husband, Michael Shimer, of Auburn; one daughter, Misti White and companion Shannon, of Auburn; three stepsons, Thomas White, Michael Shimer Jr. and Brian Shimer, all of Auburn; one stepdaughter, Amanda Shimer, of Camillus; four brothers, Marty Jones and his wife Mary, Bruce Jones and his wife Brenda, Robert Jones, and Michael Jones and his companion Rose, all of Auburn; one sister, Vicky Jones, of Auburn; several grandchildren, special nieces and nephews; loving friends; and her beloved pets. Her father, LaVerne Jones, predeceased Karen. Karen touched many lives and showed unconditional love and support for all her family and friends. She will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, at the Brew Funeral Home, 48 South St., Auburn, with Matthew Binkewicz officiating.
