Dorothy Ranf Obituary

AUBURN < Dorothy Mae Ranf, 88, formerly of Chapman Avenue, Auburn, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, at Auburn Nursing Home. Dorothy was born Aug. 28, 1919, in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Ray C. and Etheleen Bishop Vinney. Dorothy was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also loved to knit and crochet. She is survived by one daughter, Sherry Gavurnik of Auburn; two granddaughters, Vickie Lynn Chamberlain of Alexandia, Ky. and Lorrie Anne Murphy and her husband, Jon Chris, of Tulsa, Okla.; seven great-grandchildren, Matthew Chamberlain, Kyre A. Chamberlain, Daniel Josef Chamberlain, Jack Austin Murphy, Emilie Elizabeth Murphy, Julia Corrinne Murphy and Andrew Paul Murphy. Mrs. Ranf was predeceased by her husband, Ronnell W. Ranf. Family and friends are invited to call from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at the Brew Funeral Home, 48 South St., Auburn. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Marcia King officiating. Interment will be in Fort Hill Cemetery, Auburn. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Matthew House, 43 Metcalf Drive, Auburn, NY 13021; or by doing a kind deed for someone in memory of Dorothy.
