Suzanne Faatz Obituary

DURHAM, N.C. < Suzanne Marie Faatz (Bianco), formerly of Auburn, died Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 30, 2007, at Durham Regional Hospital, as a result of injuries sustained in a tragic accident 18 days earlier. She was 63 years old. Mrs. Faatz was born on April 10, 1944, to Lucian Anthony Bianco and Florence Louise Bianco (O"Hora), both of whom predeceased her. Mrs. Faatz was raised in Auburn, where she graduated from Central High School in 1963. She married Allen J. Faatz on Nov. 16, 1968, and was a devoted mother and wife. Mrs. Faatz moved to Durham, N.C. in 1998 to be close to her son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter. Mrs. Faatz was very active in the Durham community and she cherished the relationships she had with residents at Lakeside Gardens and members of the Council for Senior Citizens. She enjoyed playing pokeno, horseshoes and shuffleboard. Most importantly, her passion was helping those less able than her and assisting the sick and bereaved. Surviving is her son, Jeffrey A. Faatz and wife, Piper L. Faatz, of Chapel Hill, N.C.; grandson, Garret Faatz and granddaughter, Kali Lynn Faatz, of Chapel Hill, N.C.; brother, William Bianco, of Venice, Fla.; nieces, Lynn Crook Bianco, Tracy Zingaro Bianco, Lauri Pidgeon Bianco and Deana Green Bianco, all of the Auburn area; nephews, Robert Bianco Jr., of North Carolina, Steve Bianco and John Bianco, both of the Auburn area. Services to remember her life will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, at Lakeside Gardens, 820 Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, Durham, N.C., and at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, at the Durham Senior Center, 406 Rigsbee Ave., Durham, N.C. There will be no viewing hours. Burial will take place at the family"s farm in Chapel Hill. In lieu of donations, please send flowers in her memory to the Critical Care Unit of The Durham Region Hospital. Arrangements by Walker"s Funeral Home, 120 W. Franklin St., Chapel Hill, NC 27516.
