Angelo Maddalena Obituary

PORT BYRON/ROCHESTER < Angelo A. Maddalena, 75, of Port Byron and Rochester, died Nov. 24, 2007, at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester. Angelo was born in Rochester, March 25, 1932, the son of the late Frank and Madeline (DeStefano) Maddalena. Angelo was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School of Rochester. He was in the US Air Force from April 1951 to April 1955 and served with the 308th Field Maintenance Squadron at Hunter Air Force Base in Georgia. He was employed by Pfaudler Co., Rochester, as a machine shop supervisor. He and his wife Gerri moved to Conquest in 1996. He was a member of Our Lady of the Snow Parish and a member of the Father Guy Council 12223 Knights of Columbus. Angelo is survived by his loving wife Geraldine Giacommarra Maddalena; a son, Tim (Karen) Maddalena, of Greece; daughters, Toni Anne (Scott) Meyers, of Fairport, Traci Converse, of Palmyra, Tina Osipovitch, of Webster; brothers, Peter (Rose) Maddalena, of Rochester, David (Maryanne) Maddalena, of Penfiled; sisters, Rose Mary (Dominic) Fiore, of Rochester, and Dianne (Louis) DiLalla, of Las Vegas, Nev.; eight grandchildren, Jason, Nicole, Shane, Brianna, Lichia, Carlie, Justin and Jeffery. Angelo was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Daniel Maddalena. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3 at St. John Church, Port Byron. A rosary for the repose of the soul of Angelo will be said at 10 a.m. prior to the service from the church. There will be no calling hours. Friends are invited to greet the family and attend a lunch in the church hall following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either Our lady of the Snow Memorial Fund, 2667 Hamilton St., Weedsport, NY 13166 or Gilda"s Club, 255 Alexander St., Rochester, NY 14607. We were neighbors and friends all through our childhood. I remember Leon's 6th birthday party. His mother made ice cream and let me turn the crank. We were in the Bobwhite Patrol together in Troup 59 in Weedsport. I will remember the happy times, I hope you will, too.
