Donald C. Jones

AUBURN < Mr. Donald C. Jones, 76, of Dunning Avenue, Auburn, passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, at Auburn Memorial Hospital. A native of King Ferry and a graduate of King Ferry High School, he had retired from Lucent Technologies Co. (NY Telephone). A member of the United Church of Auburn, he was a veteran of the Korean War, an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. A member of the Auburn/Lakeview Country Club for many years, Don was also a club Ranger. Surviving is his wife, Betty R. Shea Jones, of Auburn; two children, Glenda M. (Jay) Cook, of Calhoun, Ga. and Dan M. (Susan) Jones, of Niwot, Colo.; grandchildren, Kailey and Alix Jones, and Timothy Jones; brothers, Frederick (Jenny) Jones, of Genoa and Gary (Karen) Jones, of Clifton Springs; sisters, Beverly Aldrich, of Texas and Barbara Sinn, of Ithaca; stepchildren, Kathy (Michael) Dagnesi, of Auburn, Elisabeth Shea (Guy Garrett), of Illinois and Robert Shea, of Auburn; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sons, Richard and Timothy Jones; and his first wife, Maureen Beaston Jones in 2001. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, in the United Church of Auburn, with the Rev. Larry Bell, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph"s Cemetery, with calling hours held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, at Farrell"s Funeral Service Inc., 84 South St., Auburn.
