Katherine's Obituary
Lynchburg……….Katherine Thacker Witt, age 76 of Lynchburg, died Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Virginia Baptist Hospital in Lynchburg. Born February 24, 1935 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Sidney Thacker and Emma Roberts Thacker. She was also predeceased by her husband, Alexander Witt, a daughter, Jane Witt; five sisters and two brothers. Mrs. Witt was a home maker and enjoyed her grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Witt and his wife, Lisa of Altavista, and Andrew Witt of Hurt; two daughters, Jo Ann Witt of Gretna, and Margaret Ellis and her husband, Thomas of Cora Peak, NC; one brother, Sidney Thacker of Hurt; two sisters, Shirley Elliott of NC, and Elaine Hall of Hurt; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 17, 2011 at Green Hill Cemetery in Altavista by Rev. David Cash. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M.
