Redabelle R. "Reda" Rolffs East Peoria, IL Redabelle R. "Reda" Rolffs, age 98, formerly of Battle Creek, MI, was Born into Eternal Life Friday, August 22, 2008 at Morton Terrace Care Center in Morton, IL. Born into Life July 5, 1910, in Union City, MI to Almanzo P. and Florence A. (Umholtz) Smith, she married George C. Rolffs in LaGrange, IN on November 14, 1931. He died June 26, 1995. Three brothers, Fred, Otto, and Otis, a son, Burt, and a grandson, Robert Tanksley, also preceded her in death. Pauline Tanksley of Brooksville, FL and Suzanne (Robert) Dussault of East Peoria, IL are two surviving daughters. A daughter-in-law, Betty Rolffs of East Leroy, MI, is a living family member. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Paula Tanksley, Burt Tanksley, and George Tanksley, Brenda (Dave) Gerke and Beth Rolffs, Steven (Beverly) Dussault, Jackie (Michael) Curran, Becky (Ed) Hopkins and Cece (Derek) Schroen. Eight great-grandchildren survive, Robert Tanksley, Sarah and Jessica Gerke, Kendall, Marlee and Avery Curran, Nicholas and Payton Hopkins. She loved to square dance, at a challenge level, with her husband George for over half a century. She was also known for cultivating many varieties of ornamental flowers that attracted several species of butterflies and especially the graceful hummingbirds. She also enjoyed and displayed her handiwork in sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She graduated from the Battle Creek School of Nursing in 1932 and retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital of Battle Creek, MI in 1970 where she practiced as a Psychiatric Nurse Supervisor. She was a member of Mariner United Methodist Church in Spring Hill, FL. Reda and George lived in central Florida for over 25 years following their retirement from the V. A. Hospital. Funeral memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 6, 2008, at the Chapel in Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens, Battle Creek, MI. The Reverend Pastor, Sueann Hagan of Convis Union United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial, with her spouse of 63 years, will be in Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens, Garden of Last Supper, Battle Creek, MI. The family appreciates the loving care Reda received at Morton Terrace Care Center in Morton, IL. Memorials may be made to the Veterans Administration Hospital, the
