Dale LewAllen Obituary

Dale Lee LewAllen Battle Creek Dale Lee LewAllen, 60, of Battle Creek, died Friday evening, August 22, 2008 at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was born in Battle Creek on August 27, 1947, the son of James F. and Barbara J. (Drake) LewAllen and served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1966-1968. Dale is survived by his parents, Jim and Barbara LewAllen of Battle Creek; 3 sisters, Karen (Ron) Spenelli, Carol (Hassell) Clark and Lori LewAllen, all of Battle Creek; a brother, James C. "Jimmy" LewAllen of Battle Creek; 10 nieces and nephews and several, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a nephew, Johnny. Dale was a very generous man who loved to help others. A true sports and University of Michigan enthusiast, he enjoyed playing tennis and watching the Detroit Red Wings, Tigers and Pistons. Dale loved computers, his Shelties, watching TV and spending time with his family, especially his great-nieces and nephews. At the request of the family, they will receive friends 5:00 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 28, 2008 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home. Funeral services to celebrate Dale's life will be held 12:00 noon, Friday, August 29, 2008 at the funeral home with Major Thomas Riggs, of the Salvation Army, officiating. Interment with military honors will be held at the Fort Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army would be appreciated.
