May you rest in peace, and find happiness in the heavens.
May those who love you bow their heads and hold you firmly in their hearts forever.
May they calmly raise their heads and carry on with life, never forgetting the essence that you are.
May they go on, not to move on to forget, but to live on to remember.
Because remembering is what will make them stronger, better.
You showed them how strong and sincere a person is to be.
Knowing that you are always with them, and guiding them through the ruins of life to reach the everlasting glory, shall make them able to rise from their knees in grief, and continue to live life the way you demonstrated.
I met Phil when we were 14. We only dated for a few months but remained friends ever since, sharing a special connection. Over the last 6 ½ years, we may not have talked everyday, or even every month, but we always came back to that connection. I always cared deeply for him, but did not realize just how much until now.
The last time I saw him, he took me out to the field where he hunted, to simply watch the stars and enjoy each other’s company. Although I ended up with about 20 mosquito bites, I hope that it is a memory I never forget.
Phil; you were my first boyfriend, my first kiss, and we share some amazing memories together. You did not see the faults in me, nor did I in you. Above everything that happened in our lives, and between us, we were just two friends, who cared deeply for each other. Maybe in the future we would have gotten together again, but now that’s out of our hands. No matter what happened in our past, you’re in my heart forever. And there’s nothing anyone can do about it.
So, here’s to letting the tears fall. May they relieve the pain of missing you, and replace it with everlasting memories.
With much love to Phil, his Family and Friends,
Michael and Tara Smith

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, ""I welcome you.""
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......""My day was not in vain.""
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Phil,
I know we only met a couple of times but you were always the sweetest guy ever each time. I am so sadden by your death because I wish so much that we would have gotten to know each other better, but I know that God wouldn't have taken you home unless he really need you, which now you are with him and looking over all of us... This is my favorite poem and I think it fits perfectly to Phil :
The face of an angel is all that is here,
one beautiful freckle equals one terrified tear.
Not ready to leave but has to go,
Wants to go back but God says no.
Leaving your life is a scary thought,
I guess it's something that can't be fought.
A mother, a father, a sister, or friend,
A meaningful life that suddenly ends.
An angel is what he was meant to be,
Now just think of all he can see.
Looking over his family night and day,
Saying I love you in his own special way.
In the night we sleep, in the day we cry.
He watches us all from her star in the sky.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Phil's family and friends... Phil you will be greatly missed. we all love you!! Please watch over us all Phil! Love you

We were lucky to have known you Phil, you were such a special friend.
In the blink of an eye you were taken from us, so quick your life did end.
But in our hearts you will live on, smiles to our faces you'll bring.

for now you ride on Angel wings.
