Aileen Miller Obituary

Aileen Miller Battle Creek Aileen Miller, 82, of Battle Creek, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2008 at the Battle Creek Health System surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 16, 1926 in Three Rivers, Michigan, the daughter of James and Olive (Harris) Abshire. Aileen was a 1943 graduate of Three Rivers High School, graduated from the Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing in Cincinnati and worked as a Registered Nurse at Three Rivers Hospital for several years. On June 29, 1947 she was married to Stan Miller in Three Rivers and they have made their home in Battle Creek since 1958. Aileen was a member of the Riverside Country Club and AARP, and enjoyed golfing, travel, her family and family gatherings. Surviving are her husband, Stan Miller; four sons: Scott (Rhonda) Miller, Vince (Margie) Miller, Michael (Mary) Miller and Mitchell (Debbie) Miller, all of Battle Creek; nine grandchildren: Jeff (Dina) Miller, April (Sam) Rastoskey, Lindsey (Chris) Walden, Andrea (Jake Barker) Miller, Natalie Miller, Eric (Rachel) Miller, Chad Miller, Angela and Brandon Miller; three great-grandchildren: Samantha, Nickolas and Joshua; one brother: Roe Abshire of Brownsville, TX; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Dorothy M. May and Nellie Kaiser; and one brother: Jack Abshire. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Private inurnment will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Three Rivers. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Michigan Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
