James Tripp Obituary

James A. "Jim" Tripp Battle Creek James A. "Jim" Tripp, 70, of Battle Creek, passed away Monday, September 29, 2008 at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. He was born in Battle Creek on April 22, 1938, the son of Warrington and Nerva (Hughes) Tripp. Jim married the former Shirley Morris on October 28, 1995 in Battle Creek, she survives. He retired from Kraft Division of Post General Foods on June 30, 1997 after 41 years of service. He also worked at Greensmith Florist for many years. He was a member of the Post Sportsman Club. He enjoyed being outdoors and the sport of hunting. Jim is survived by his children: Deb (Douglas) Mawby of Dowling, Carol (Michael) Wohlscheid of Battle Creek, Jim Tripp of Battle Creek; stepchildren: Dorothy (Michael) Sells of Battle Creek, Donna (Kevin) Bradley of Ceresco, Michelle (Chris) Dembsky of Battle Creek; mother, Nerva Tripp of Delton; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Judy Brown and Irene Bergman, both of Battle Creek; and one brother, Warrington (Lisa) Tripp, Jr. He was preceded in death by his father Warrington Tripp, Sr. The family will receive friends at the visitation for Jim on Thursday, October 2, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. at Royal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 3, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Reese Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence.

Nerva, Irene and Family,
I worked around Jim at Post, and he was always a hard worker and nice to talk to. If you needed anything you could just asked and he would help if he could. That was true of each of the family members that worked there.
Truely, Genuine, Nice people!!
He will be missed.

Hi,

You have my sympathy. Jim was a good friend even though I haven't seen him in a few years. Jim was a great person and had a heart of gold and loved his family very much. Talked about them a lot.

What a great guy Jim was! I went to the casino with him and Carol (one of his favorite things) and we had a blast. He was sooo nice. Quite the Cracker Jack!!!
