Richard K. Jacoby Sherwood Richard K. Jacoby, 83, of Sherwood, MI, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2008 at V.A. Medical Center in Battle Creek. He was born June 21, 1925 in Allen, MI the son of George Ely and Grace May (Smith) Jacoby. He married Betty Lou Green on April 11, 1944 in Angola, IN. Dick graduated from Wattles Park South Eastern Jr. High and Battle Creek Central High School. He served in the Army during World War II. Dick worked for the Battle Creek schools an engineer at the Vocational Ed. Center, Oliver Corp and Knolls Golf Course. Dick enjoyed playing golfing, bowling, fishing and hunting. He was a life member of the Masonic Lodge #12, past Patron of the Bedford Chapter #471 O.E.S., a life member of D.A.V. and the Maple United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Betty L. Jacoby; children, Eleanor M. (Robert) Smith of Sherwood, Linda L. (Joseph) Kuhse of Charlotte, Richard M. (Khrystyne) Jacoby of Battle Creek; sister, May Kotcher of Jackson; 7 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers and sisters, Clyle Jacoby, Alberta Jean Dougherty, Ila May Jacoby, Velma B. Jacoby, Jay Wellington Jacoby, Dale Jacoby, Bill Lee Jacoby and Betty Lou Jacoby. Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Monday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service with Pastor Mark Lipscomb officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial tributes may be made to Masonic Lodge #12 or VA Medical Center Dementia Ward.
