Genevieve Smith Obituary

Genevieve B. Smith Genevieve B. Smith, age 94, died Sunday, October, 19, 2008 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mrs. Smith was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on February 22, 1914 and was a homemaker. She was a former resident of Battle Creek, Saginaw, Marquette and Laingsburg, Michigan. She and her husband Claude retired to Morristown, Arizona in 1976. Claude Smith was one of the founders of the Marquette Bible Church in Marquette, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude L. Smith in 1995; son, Richard C. Smith in 1988; and three brothers, Leo, Dale and Allan Hapner. Survivors include her three sons: Gerald C. Smith of Laingsburg, Michigan, Thomas C. Smith of Prosper, Texas and Stephen P. Smith of Phoenix, Arizona; twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren (with number 15 due in April of 2009), and one great-great-grandson; and four sisters, Violet Heath, Doris Brooker, Barbara Bolliger and Ellen Galbraith. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 23rd at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home, 703 Capital Avenue, SW, Battle Creek, MI with the Rev. George Butler officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral service. Genevieve will be buried next to her husband, Claude at Congregational Cemetery in East Leroy, Michigan.
