Vivian L. Mullins

Vivian L. Mullins Battle Creek Vivian L. Mullins, age 83, of Battle Creek, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 7, 2008, at the Calhoun County Medical Care Facility. Vivian was born on August 28, 1925 in Lehigh, OK, the daughter of Earl E. and Alice M. (Logan) Silvers. She had been an area resident since 1943. She was a graduate of Atoka High School in Oklahoma. On October 1, 1943, she was united in marriage to Melvin Mullins who preceded her in death on August 21, 2000. Vivian was employed at the Lakeview Laundromat for 15 years as an attendant. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting but her passion was her grandchildren. Surviving are children, Linda L. (Jim) Weller of Springfield, MI, Judy K. Russell of Battle Creek and Melva J. (Tom) Parker of Battle Creek; 7 grandchildren, Troy Southerland, Dena Russell, Tom Holmgren, Dyan (Russell) Hagadon, Tracy Miller, Kim Parker and Tonja Parker; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Peggy Walden of Kennedale, TX, Sue Bolic of Atoka, OK and Carol (Gene) Sluder of Atoka, OK; and brothers, Dale (Dorothy) Silvers of Lane, OK and Paul (Ginger) Silvers of Lane, OK. She was preceded in death by a son, Amber Melvin Mullins, on August 22, 2008. Visitation will be held Monday from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Augustine and Pastor Glenn Huisinga officiating. Interment will be at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Faith Baptist Church or the Arthritis Foundation.
