Faye E. Corey

Faye E. Corey Battle Creek Faye E. Corey, 92, of Battle Creek, died Tuesday, January 20, 2009, at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility. She was born January 16, 1917, in the Village of Urbandale, Bedford Twp., the daughter of Arthur R. and Ida M. (Kirschman) Dryer, living in the Battle Creek area all of her life. She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1935. Faye worked for many years as assistant manager of the Neumode Hosiery Company in downtown Battle Creek. After her retirement she was a volunteer at Community Hospital's gift shop until its closing. Faye married Richard A. Corey on September 6, 1937, in Albion, IN. She was preceded in death by Richard, her husband of 57 years, on February 20, 1994. Immediate survivors are her daughter, Linda C. (James) McAllan of Falls Church, VA, and her sister, Florence A. Jones of Battle Creek. At the request of the family, friends may call on Sunday, January 25, at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home where they will be received from 2-4 p.m. Services to celebrate her life will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 26, 2009. Memorial contributions may be made to the Calhoun County Medical Care Facility.
