We were so sorry to hear of your mothers & grandmothers passing.
She was a wonderful caring loving person. We spend so much time together as bus drivers, and although we had spoke in and few years I did think of her often. She is happy now she with her loving husband. God Bless to all of you.

To my long distance family,
This is Kathy Lester, Sammie Lowe's daughter. Like sister Sharon posted previously, we have many fond memories spent with Aunt Opal and Uncle Vick at their vacation home in Tennessee. They always welcomed us with warmth and love. Those are very precious memories.
It saddens me to hear of Aunt Opal's passing, but it comforts me to know I will see her again in heaven. Jesus said " I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies, and whoever lives and believes in me will never die." John 11:25 That is a wonderful promise that we can hang onto in times like these. I am praying for your peace and comfort. I know she will be sorely missed.
Much love,
Kathy Lowe Lester

This is your cousin from Tennessee. I am so sorry I just found out from our paper about Aunt Opal's passing. I will miss her so much. She was the most fun to be around. I will always remember going out to their home here and playing in and around Uncle Vic's whittling shavings and listening to her huge laugh. It is so odd that my youngest son was talking about taking up whittling while he is on guard duty to pass the time and I had told him about Vic's mounds of shavings. I will miss her and am thinking about you guys.

Opal will be greatly missed by her friends and relatives in Tennessee. I had the pleasure of spending an afternoon with her last summer during her visit to LaFollette. We went to the old Shepherd family cemetery to see her grandparents graves. She shared many wonderful family stories with me. We all loved her very much and looked forward to seeing her. My prayers are with the family.
