Mary Canfield Obituary

Mary "Jean" Canfield Battle Creek Mary "Jean" Canfield, age 80, of Battle Creek, passed away Friday January 30, 2009 at Battle Creek Health System. Jean was born in Battle Creek on February 22, 1928, the daughter of Russell and Ruth (Moran) Travis. She was a lifelong resident of the area graduating from Lakeview High School in 1945. On May 18, 1947, she was united in marriage to Calvin R. "Cal" Canfield who survives. Jean was a member of the First Assembly of God Church and was the church secretary for 30 years retiring in 1993. Jean enjoyed gardening, puzzles and spending time with her family. Surviving are children, Stephen Russell (Maggie) Canfield, of Taylor, MI, John Lee (Myrtle) Canfield of South Bend, IN; grandchildren, Danise (Todd) Hirdler, Jean (Michael) Knight, Amy (Samuel) Garcia, Dionne (Thayne) Moore, Ryan (Rebekah) Canfield, Dana (Matt) Clark, Angela (Matt) Catinella, Stephen (Sarah) Canfield and Paul (Ann Marie) Canfield; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Charles (Patricia) Travis of Delton; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brother David Travis. Visitation will be held Monday from 2 to 4:00 p.m. and 6 to 8:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2009, at First Assembly of God with Pastor R. David Bowering and Pastor Robert Muirhead officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Living Water Christian Ministries, P.O. Box 82315 Rochester, MI 48308.

I have such wonderful memories of Jeannie Canfield, going back in time as far as i can remember, when we attended the Four Fold Gospel.
