Joyce Russell Obituary

Joyce A. Russell Bellevue Joyce Ann Russell, age 68, of Bellevue, died February 3, 2009 at Battle Creek Health System. She was born May 15, 1940, the daughter of Lawrence and Beatrice L. (Samson) Russell in Battle Creek. She graduated from Bellevue High School in 1958, received a Bachelor's Degree from Michigan State University and a Master's Degree from Western Michigan University. She worked as a librarian for public schools in Grand Rapids and Cleveland, Ohio. Joyce is survived by her brother, James Russell of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and cousins Ann (Rex) Croster of Mendon and Linda (Dan) Armey of Sturgis. She was preceded in death by her mother, Beatrice in September 2008 and her father, Lawrence. Joyce was a member of Bellevue United Methodist Church. She loved to read and enjoyed teaching. She also enjoyed visiting with people. Family will receive friends from 4 until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue. Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 9, 2009 at Bellevue United Methodist Church with Pastor Virginia Heller officiating. Interment, Riverside Cemetery. Memorial donations may go to Bellevue United Methodist Church. The family is being served by Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue. www.shawfuneralhome.com
