Roger Sleeper Obituary

Roger Sleeper Battle Creek Roger Sleeper, age 63, of Battle Creek, passed away February 9, 2009. Roger was born November 27, 1945 in Sturgis, MI the son of Wayne and Leota (Herrieff) Sleeper. Roger retired from the Michigan National Guard in 1994 as a Staff Sergeant after 23 years of service. He was an avid sports fan, especially NASCAR. Roger is survived by his children: Derek Sleeper of Oxford, MI and Denise Sleeper of Troy; his grandchildren: Cody and Courtney Sleeper; his brother: Ralph (Patricia) Sleeper of Battle Creek; his sister: Elaine (Cliff) Justice of Albion; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister: Eileen Marks. A burial service with full Military Honors will be held on Friday, February 13, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta. Memorials in Roger's name may be directed to the American Lung Association. Arrangements entrusted to the Royal Funeral Home, Battle Creek.

i love roger as a friend and also as a grandfather,if you will.we became great friends and he is a great man.i know how much he loved his children and so so proud he was of his grandchildren.,also his brotherRalph and other siblings he may have had.i will miss him deeply,along with so many others whos life he touched..,and my sympathy goes out to all his family.rest in peace my friend for many lives were made brighter by yours.i know mine has.i love you roger.you are forever in my heart.and forever you will be missed.

I used to play with Roger as a child at Grandma and Grandpa Dart's farm. We haven't seen the Sleeper family for a very long time, since Grandma (Fleda) died probably. I am sorry to hear of his passing, and be sure my prayers will be with your family. Sue (Dear) Stumbo
